A twist in the tale

Sometimes a restaurant's name itself can woo customers. 

'Double Decker' on Brigade Road is one such place which offers interesting food and drinks.  But that's not all, you can also spend a good amount of time here, thanks to its ambience. Lionel David, director of Double Decker, says, "As it is located on a prominent street, it has worked great for us.  Our place offers a good view of the city  and is a favourite of youngsters and corporate professionals."

The short eats  include 'Khakhara Dhabeli Nachos' which is a great fusion of flavours. The waffles here come with a twist.  The other interesting items are 'Gujarati Kadi with Dhokla Waffle', 'Chettinad Chicken Curry with Dosa Waffle' and 'Mutton Curry with Ragi Mudde Waffle', the 'Vegetable Tandoori Platter' and 'Tandoori Chicken Tikka'.

"These are filling and unique in taste too," says Lionel.  For those who would love a Continental bite with a twist, there is the  Aloo Tikki Burger, Chicken Tikka Pizza and the Chunkey Chicken Pizza.  Desserts always make a fine ending to any meal. The  place has special treats for those who like to dig into sweets. "Our  Chocolate Mousse and Gulab Jamun Cheese Cake are popular among many," he says.

For those who would like to indulge in mocktails, the Pink Lady or the Virgin Mojito are definite options. "Summer is fast approaching and the 'Virgin Cucumber Cooler' is a great drink to sip on. Our drink Lunch Break, with guava juice and red chilli is a drink which will bring nostalgic thoughts from school to one," adds Lionel.

The ambience of the place is impressive with swings instead of stools and a couch lounge area for the ones who just want to relax, while sipping a drink or munching away.

"The lighting in a place matters a lot. We have a very bright yellow happy space which anyone would enjoy being at," Lionel says.
