Young talents on stage

Bhoomija’s Youth Carnatic Orchestra (YCO), directed by Mysore Manjunath, will perform on July 1, 7 pm at MLR Convention Centre.

This year, the YCO is conceptualised and directed by violin maestro Mysore Manjunath. It has young musicians in the age group of 18 to 24. The group this year consists of 12 Carnatic violinists. four percussionists and a pianist.

“YCO is an attempt to bring youngsters who are already established musicians under the guidance of a maestro who will conceptualise and direct the show. The group comes together for several intense rehearsals and the interaction with a maestro is something they cherish. The group has some interesting talent — the youngsters are so talented and thrilled to bits that they are getting to work with Mysore Manjunath who is putting his heart and soul into the project, spending long hours with the team to get the best out of them,” says Gayathri Krishan, Bhoomija’s Managing Trustee.
