The Andhra Pradesh government on Tuesday alleged that YSR Congress party is hell bent on obstructing the construction of Amaravati the new state of the art capital for the residual state.

Senior ministers of the state have said that the opposition party in the guise of farmers of the capital region has sent thousands of e-mails to the World Bank urging it not to approve the loan for the construction of the capital.

“Since the day the capital region was allocated to Guntur and Krishna districts the opposition leader YS Jaganmohan Reddy is trying to sabotage government’s efforts by instigating farmers and filing cases in courts and the Green Tribunal,” irrigation minister D Umamaheswar Rao said. Agriculture Minister Somireddy Chandramohan Reddy further added that people of the state have understood the nefarious plans of Jaganmohan Reddy and will give him a befitting reply at a right time.

Meanwhile, AP CRDA (Capital Region Development Authority) Commissioner Ch Sridhar said in Amaravati that the e-mails sent in the name of the farmers have not dented the image of the state. “We have called the World Bank senior officials and explained our point. They are releasing Rs 3500cr loan in the month of July as per the schedule,” Sridhar said. He said that this is the second time that anonymous mails have been sent to World Bank for political gains.

Meanwhile YSRCP Mangalagiri MLA Alla Ramakrishna Reddy obstructed a Grama Sabha by the revenue officials in Penumaka village under CRDA jurisdiction objecting to the land acquisition notification of the Authority. Penumaka villagers who have refused to pool their land have uprooted the tent and broke plastic chairs. Reddy who picked up an argument with the revenue officials, created a ruckus on the dais. Revenue officers are planning to file a case against the MLA for obstructing them from discharging government duty.
