Speaking after presenting the annual awards of Karnataka Janapada Academy here at Indira Glass House on Saturday evening, he revealed that a total of 1,500 more artistes would be given a honorarium of Rs 500 per month, and 14,000 artists were already receiving the honorarium.
Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Minister Jagadish Shettar presided over the function, while the Janapada Academy Chairman Go Ru Channabasappa, MP Prahlad Joshi and others were present.
