Man held for killing his aunt's paramour

A man was arrested for murdering his aunt’s paramour in Anekal on Tuesday.  The arrested has been identified as Balaji, an autorickshaw driver.

According to the police, Balaji hacked Balraj (27), a resident of Guttahalli in Anekal taluk and a water tanker operator, to death on Tuesday for having an affair with his aunt, a widow.

Balaji did not approve of Balraj’s affair with his aunt. Despite several warnings, Balraj continued his old ways.

Hacked to death

Fed up with his misdemeanours, Balaji hatched a plot to murder Balraj. Accordingly, he called Balraj for a drink on Tuesday night. Later Balaji took the drunk Balraj in his autorickshaw to a secluded place in Varthur and hacked him to death with sharp weapons.

The incident came to light when the police found an unidentified body on a vacant site in Varthur on Wednesday morning. The police also recovered a mobile phone along with the body. The Varthur police registered a case of murder on Tuesday night and initiated investigations.

The police analysed his call detail records and picked up a suspect identified as Balaji. Upon interrogation, Balaji confessed to his crime.
