CREDAI realty expo kicks off

As many as 41 leading property developers and three housing financial institutions are participating in the expo, which concludes on Sunday.

An executive of CREDAI, Sandhya said around 1,500 to 2,000 people visited the expo on Saturday. “Many people showed interest in the project and wished to visit the spot. The expo helped people take decision about buying property in Bangalore,” she added.

Among the prominent builders who participated in the expo were Sobha Developers, Mantri Developers, Puravankara, August Ventures and SGR Buildtech.
The show was inaugurated by M Lakshminarayana, Secretary to the Chief Minister. Also present at the launch were Raj Menda, president, CREDAI Karnataka; Kamal Sagar, chairman, Realty Expo; Suresh Hari, secretary, CREDAI Karnataka and Srinivasan Desikachari, CEO, CREDAI-Karnataka.

The properties on display are not only from Bangalore but also from various cities like Mysore, Chennai, Hyderabad, Pune, Goa and Kochi. Three leading developers of Chennai and Coimbatore are among the participants.

Kamal Sagar, Chairman Realty Expo, said, “The market has now changed for the better and the expo this year is aptly timed to meet the demands of this changed scenario. The home finance institutions are also opening up to give home loans. The expo this year will focus mainly on properties that are in the affordable housing segment in the range of 20 lakh to 50 lakh. We expect the more serious buyers to visit the expo this year as realty market is slowly moving towards normalcy and it is the right time to invest in properties.”

 “With the turnaround in the IT sector and increased employment intake as well as job uncertainty becoming a past proposition, the realty sector already has an increase in demand and will be progressing into a boom by 2011, said Raj Menda, president, CREDAI-Karnataka.
