The state government has constituted a committee headed by the chief secretary to scrutinise proposals sent by departments for implementation when the model election code of conduct is in place.
According to an official press release, the state government constituted the panel on the directions of the Election Commission of India (ECI).
The release states that the committee will have to study the proposals sent by departments during the period when the model code of conduct is in place, and forward its comment to the ECI though the state’s Chief Electoral Officer.
The panel will have to furnish its view in detail whether the proposals need to be implemented immediately or can wait till the completion of the elections.
