Accordingly, it has undertaken Ubrani-Amrithapura lift irrigation project to lift 1.67 tmc water, said MLA D S Suresh.
The project is aimed at supplying water to major tanks in Tarikere and Channagiri taluks at an estimated cost of Rs 96 crore.
The MLA along with the senior officers had visited the spot where the first phase of lift irrigation project is under progress. The ambitious project will irrigate 11,818 acre land in Tarikere and Channagiri taluks. It will be a boon for the farmers of Tarikere Kasaba and Amrithapura hobli.
Ubrani-Amrithapura lift irrigation project’s Eshwarappa, Zilla Panchayat member K R Druvakumar, DCC bank former president K R Anandappa, Taluk Panchayat member Shambhainoor Anandappa, Karnataka Irrigation Corporation Engineer Krishnamurthy among other dignitaries were present.
