We are never out of excuses to celebrate or throw a party. Birthdays, anniversaries, bachelorettes, bridal showers, get-togethers - anything and everything is a reason to get out the part hats. “The idea came to my mind when I had to organise parties and realised that some stores were selling these supplies at exorbitant prices. Parties should be done for enjoyment and burning a hole in your pocket takes away a huge part of the fun. Also it is not such a great idea to have to run from store to store with your kids in tow while prepping for a birthday party or spending all your weekends sourcing things from different stores for that bridal shower,” says Ritika.

“So in 2014 I started my market research and by 2015, I established an online store. Now we have over 7000 items across various categories and people get their orders within a few days,” she adds. Since most people have a feeling that party supplies are quite expensive, Ritika is out to change this misconception too. Visitors can compare prices across categories before choosing something or they can opt for the ‘Party Fun Box’, a bundle of offerings at a discounted price.

Ritika adds that some of the best reactions she has received till date has come from her international clients. “They love our huge variety and competitive prices. They either get it picked up from our warehouse or get it delivered to some relative’s place. Sometimes they also don’t mind paying courier charges to their destination if they don’t have a choice,” she says.

What about closer home? “This happened during our initial years. It seems this young mother of two had ordered some party props and decor from us and had planned a birthday celebration for one of her boys. The theme was superheroes and it was quite an event where everyone had a lot of fun. However for her second boy she planned a big elegant celebration. The boy was really unhappy about it! He wanted the same bash that his brother had with the themed decor, props and accessories. When he didn’t calm down even after two to three days, she had to throw another impromptu post-birthday bash and order the party accessories from Funcart,” Ritika recounts with a laugh.
