Shocking details have emerged in the case of brutalisation of two young lovers and video recording of the incident in Uttar Pradesh's Maharajganj district, about 250 kilometres from here.

According to the sources, the girl was allegedly ''forced'' to strip and ''pose'' for video recording. The video was later uploaded on the social networking sites.

Two persons, who were residents of Banarsinha village in the district, were arrested in this connection, police sources said in Maharajganj. A hunt was on to nab the other culprits.

The girl, who was a minor, has alleged that she was forced to strip and pose indecently with her lover by the miscreants, who also recorded everything.

Sources said that the incident had occurred about nine days back. The girl had told her parents about her brutal torture after which they approached the cops for lodging a case against the accused persons.

The police allegedly exerted pressure on the victim's parents to compromise in exchange for Rs. 37 thousand, sources said adding that the police told the girl's parents that they would face social humiliation if the matter became public.

The cops swung into action only after senior police officials took cognizance of the video, which had gone viral on the social networking sites.

The video footage, which showed the two lovers being repeatedly kicked and beaten with sticks by a group of people in a forested area, triggered a massive outrage with the opposition parties once again cornering the Yogi Adityanath government on what they alleged its failure on the law and order front.

''Women are not safe in this regime,'' said Samajwadi Party (SP) leader Rajendra Chaudhary here on Wednesday.

Barely a few days back a video showing molestation of a young girl by a group of youths in Rampur district had gone viral. The incident had triggered nationwide outrage. Around a dozen youths were arrested in this connection.
