State to write to Centre on use of paramilitary

The state government on Wednesday decided to take up with the Centre the issue of I-T department using Central para-military forces for conducting a raid at a resort where Energy Minister D K Shivakumar and Gujarat Congress MLA were staying.

Sources in the Chief Minister’s Office here said the state government will write a strong letter to the Home Ministry on the issue. The I-T department should obtain the permission of the state government for using para-military forces. But, the department did not even inform the government in this regard, the sources said.

Additional Chief Secretary to Home department Subash Chandra has been directed to write the letter to the Centre, the sources said.
