DKS to submit more papers to I-T dept in his defence

Energy Minister D K Shivakumar, who was recently raided by the Income Tax department, on Thursday said that he will submit more documents in his defence to the I-T department.

The minister was expected to visit the I-T department office on Queen’s Road here on Thursday. However, he said he would submit the documents soon. Sources close to the minister said that the reports about seizure of all his bank accounts by the I-T department were false. Shivakumar has claimed that the I-T sleuths had only seized the bank accounts pertaining to the business establishments while none of his personal bank accounts has been seized. 

An official close to the minister said that the I-T department had not issued any fresh notice to Shivakumar to appear before the officials. However, the department has sought certain documents, which will be submitted to the department.
