DA case: apex court dismisses review plea by Sasikala

Last Updated 23 August 2017, 19:46 IST

The Supreme Court has dismissed a plea filed by AIADMK leader V K Sasikala to review a judgement that awarded her four-year jail term in a disproportionate assets case.

“We do not find any error in the common judgement impugned, much less an apparent error on the face of the record, so as to call for its review. The review petitions are, accordingly, dismissed,” a bench of Justices S A Bobde and Amitava Roy said in the order.

On Tuesday, senior advocate Mukul Rohatgi, representing Sasikala, handed over a brief submission and fresh propositions for reconsideration of the judgement passed on February 14, 2017.

The court, however, dismissed the review petition of Sasikala, lodged in Parappana Agrahara jail in Bengaluru, and also a plea on her behalf to re-open court hearing.
