KAS officer H Basavarajendra has moved anticipatory bail application before the Lokayukta special court. Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) has named Basavarajendra as an accused in an FIR registered in connection with dropping lands from acquisition.
The special court has posted next hearing to August 29 for filing objections.
The ACB FIR states that Basavarajendra, who was special land acquisition officer of Bangalore Development Authority (BDA), dropped lands from preliminary notification issued for developing Dr Shivarama Karanth Layout.
Basavarajendra is presently serving as deputy secretary (Mines Investigation cell and Sugar).
