Rural police have been successful in busting the murder case of a history sheeter and arrested seven persons involved in the crime.

Addressing reporters here on Sunday, SP G Radhika said that the accused were nabbed at a roadside eatery near Nelamangala. The accused have been identified as K Jayaramu, Ravi, Janakiram, M Sathish, Shekar, N Sathish and Manjunath, all hailing from Bengaluru.

The SP said that Bharath, the murdered history sheeter, had a criminal background. An old enmity is said to be the reason behind the murder. Basaveshwaranagar police had opened a rowdy sheet on Bharath. Moreover, dacoity and assault cases have also been booked against him at Subramanyanagar and Basaveshwara Nagar police stations, she said.

Bharath, along with his accomplices, had allegedly assaulted Jayaram which led to enmity between the two. Later, Jayaram, with the help of Bharath’s friend Manjunath, hatched a plot and murdered him, she added.

The accused, Sathish and Janakiram, face charges of murder attempt and dacoity at Vayyalikaval and Kolar police stations. The other accused are also facing charges of dacoity, attempt to murder and assault cases.
