Fresh cuts and a soothing colour palette define designer Anushree Reddy’s creations. Her love for comfort clothing and pastel shades reflects in her designs and silhouettes. Anushree’s forte being traditional Indian wear, her clothes speaks elegance and romance.

In a chat with Surupasree Sarmmah, Anushree talks about her latest collection, the evolving fashion industry and more.

Tell us about your latest collection that you showcased at the ‘Lakme Fashion Week’?

The ‘Winter-Festive 2017’ collection draws its inspiration from the beautiful princess of Hyderabad, Niloufer. The collection is royal and is a recreation of the classic styles of the bygone era. Pure silk, georgette, organze and chiffon are some of the fabrics I have worked on. Since Niloufer was known for her beauty and sense of fashion, the idea of this line is to showcase the glamorous life of the princess.

What are the must-haves in your wardrobe...

A shift dress, a bag, sunglasses and flip-flops.

Ileana D’Cruz

Your mantra for creating exquisite designs...

I focus on creating designs and silhouettes that are wearable, especially for the modern brides. I think
from my customers’ point of view while working on an outfit.

Your interests apart from designing...

Of late, I have become very passionate about fitness. This apart, I also play badminton sometimes.
