Chinmay does star turn

A fine all-round show from Chinmay NA handed St Joseph’s Boys’ High School an emphatic innings and eight runs win over Jain International Residential School in the Group I, Division I under-16 super league for the KSCA Cup here.

Batting first, Jain could never get going as the Josephites’ bowlers restricted them by taking wickets at regular intervals. Priyal Singh, with figures of four for 27, was the chief destroyer and was backed well by Chinmay NM (3/20) and Amogh Docca (2/16).

In response, Chinmay’s 96 and Rohan Koshy’s 46 helped Joseph’s put up 222 for nine declared. Arpit Jain was the star of the show with the ball for Jain, returning figures of four for 14.

Chinmay then came to the fore with the ball to grab five for 33 and bundle Jain out for a paltry 99 in 56.4 overs to hand his side a comfortable win.
