Update knowledge, nursing students told

Addressing the convocation ceremony of the Canara College of Nursing and Nightingale School of Nursing at Koteshwar here, he said that the about 10,000 people complete the Nursing course every year.

The quality of Nursing education in Karnataka attracts majority of students from Kerala. Nursing students must inculcate human values along with their studies, he added.   In his presidential address, State Home Minister Dr V S Acharya said that the nursing profession, which is an essential part in life saving, is a sacred job.

While a doctor attend his patient only for a limited period, it is a nurse who care them for long time. Hence, the relation between a patient and nurse is more, he said and advised the students to update their knowledge on technological development in the world of globalisation. RGUHS  Vice-Chancellor Dr S Ramananda Shetty, Baindoor MLA K Lakshminarayana, College Directors Bailur Udaykumar Shetty were present.
