Amid the volatile political situation in Tamil Nadu, Banwarilal Purohit, who took charge as the governor on Friday, said his decision would be based on the Constitution, without political considerations.
“All my decisions will be based on the Constitution. I have decided to preserve and protect the Constitution. There will be no political considerations in any of the decisions,” Purohit said after being sworn-in as the 24th governor of Tamil Nadu.
Stating that the governor’s office is above politics, Purohit said “all decisions will be based on merit, and there will be total transparency”.
