Last Updated 24 October 2017, 19:40 IST

The Kannada Development Authority (KDA) on Tuesday sought that its recommendations aimed at improving quality of education in government schools be tabled in the winter session of the state legislature to be held next month.

Addressing a press conference in Bengaluru, KDA Chairman S G Siddaramaiah said the 21 recommendations including making it mandatory for elected representatives and government employees to send their children to government schools be taken up for discussion in the legislature.

He said Chief Minister Siddaramaiah had assured that the recommendations will be implemented in a phased manner. The recommendations suggest ways to bring government schools on a par with private ones in the present-day education system.
A two-day seminar to discuss the KDA report will be organised in Bengaluru from October 30, he added.
