Organic foods company Pristine Organics, which is catering to medical nutrition requirements in India, has announced plans to enter the US and European markets with its products for infants.

In an interaction with DH, Pristine Organics Founder and Managing Director, Dr K C Raghu said, “We are working on entering the US and Europe. Registrations are underway. We should be able to announce the development soon.”

The company, which started operations as a food laboratory in 1992, started its commercial venture in 1997 with a range of organic produce. While the commercial range claims a bigger share in the company’s revenues, its nutrition solutions for infants/children suffering from inborn errors of metabolism (IEM) has carved a niche for itself.

Raghu said, “Children born with IEM suffer from the inability to digest certain foods due to lack of certain enzymes. In such cases, nutrition solutions can be more effective than medication,” adding that the company is working on nutrition solutions for Alzheimer’s disease and epilepsy, among other things.
