Governor Rameshwar Thakur has at the same time asked the State Government to conduct elections to the Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) council by July end, as per the Karnataka High Court direction. In fact, the Governor agreed to promulgate the ordinance only after Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa assured him of conducting the elections by July end, official sources said.
Clarifications sought
The Governor had also sought certain clarifications, including the reason for increasing wards. With this, the Government can now go ahead with process of delimitation of wards.
