Mangaluru Bishop Rev Dr Aloysius Paul D'Souza unveiled the logo of the 'Pavitraatma Abhishekotsva 2017,' a four-day state-level convention to be held from November 9 to 12 at Rosario Cathedral grounds. The convention is being organised to commemorate the golden jubilee of Charismatic Renewal in the Catholic Church.

Speaking on the occasion, he said that during the past 50 years, the Catholic Church has become lively and vibrant because of Charismatic Renewal. "We can see and feel it in the way people participate in the worship and the way people pray. A number of people are engaged in works of mercy because of the message the divine touch has helped them in experiencing because of the Renewal. People, irrespective of caste and creed, have changed their life after attending Charismatic Retreats. The Charismatic Renewal is a gift given by God to the Church. Hence, it is an occasion for us to thank God for the blessings showered on the Church and on individuals."

Convention Convener Fr Onil D'Souza said that Bishops, priests, nuns, leaders, and people from all the 14 dioceses of Karnataka will be participating in the four-day convention. The convention will take place in the evening from 4 pm to 8 pm. Rev Dr Aloysius Paul D'Souza will inaugurate the convention at Rosario Cathedral Grounds at 4.30 pm and offer the inaugural Holy Mass.

Bishop Francis Serrao of Shivamogga Diocese will be offering holy mass on November 10. Bishop Lawrence Mukkuzhy of Belthangady will offer Holy Mass on November 11 and Rev Dr Bernard Moras, the Archbishop of Bengaluru, will offer the concluding holy mass on November 12. A team of well-known preachers will be preaching the word of God on all the four days. About 15,000 people from Dakshina Kannada and Kasargod districts are expected to participate in the convention. The convention will take place in Kannada language. A souvenir will be released on the last day of the convention.

Adequate parking arrangements have been made at Emme Kere grounds (buses, mini bus and tempo) and St Anne's School grounds for four-wheelers. Two hundred volunteers will be serving at the grounds to help people to participate in the convention.

A three-day training camp (10th to 12th) will be held for leaders from 14 dioceses of Karnataka at St Anthony's Ashram Jeppu. Around 500 leaders will be attending the training programme.
