Collision due to fog, 7 dead

At least 7 people were killed in a head-on collision between a truck and a state roadways bus in Ferozpur in Punjab on Tuesday.

The collision occurred due to poor visibility in the morning because of dense fog that had engulfed the area.

Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh has announced Rs 1 lakh ex-gratia to each of the kin of those killed in the tragic accident.

At least 20 people were injured in the accident. The accident took place at village, Kari Kalan, on the Ferozepur-Fazilka highway in the district.

The government has directed the district administration to provide free medical treatment to the injured. The drivers of both the vehicles were among those killed.
