BJP state president B S Yeddyurappa alleged that Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has "woken up" after being in a slumber for four years and was indulging in "opportunistic politics" by organising Sadhana Parva.

Addressing media persons here on Tuesday, Yeddyurappa targeted the Congress government, asking it to list out its achievements.

"Is leaving Bengaluru submerged in rainwater an achievement?   Do Sowing seeds of hatred in the name of caste and religion, misusing of Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB), neglecting veteran Congress leaders the achievements of the Congress government are achievements?   If this continues, the Congress party, including KPCC president G Parameshwara will not be with Siddaramaiah," he said.

Yeddyurappa demanded a White Paper on the state finances. He sought to know from the government when it would release the report of caste census.

While the BJP had borrowed loans amounting to Rs 46,190 crore during its five-year tenure, the Congress government has borrowed Rs 1,28,361 crore. It has burdened every citizen with a debt of Rs 21,293, Yeddyurappa said.

He alleged that the government has created hatred between the Lingayats and Veerashaivas. It has failed in arresting the killers of Gowri Lankesh even after months. The law and order situation has collapsed in the state with a rise in crimes against women, he said.

Opposition leader in the Legislative Council B S Eshwarappa said that the chief minister and the ministers were claiming to have fulfilled the promises they had made in their manifesto. But this is not true. The government should issue a White Paper in this regard, he demanded.
