MRP deadline now Dec 31

The Centre on Friday extended the deadline for display of revised Maximum Retail Price (MRP) on pre-packaged commodities until December 31, reports DHNS from New Delhi.

The declaration of the changed retail sale price (MRP) was allowed to be made by way of stamping or putting a sticker or online printing, as the case may be, the Ministry of Consumer Affairs and Food said in a statement. The old rate of the product will also have to be displayed.

The order shall be applicable for unsold stocks of manufactured/packed and goods imported after July 1 where the MRP will be reduced after the downward revision in GST.
