Cybercrime cops begin probe into Trishika's fake Instagram account case

The Cybercrime police have started probing into the complaint lodged by an assistant of Trisihika Kumari Wodeyar, wife of Yaduveer Wodeyar, the scion of the erstwhile Mysore royal family.

The complainant said that a fake Instagram account with Trishika's name and photograph was active on the internet. The investigating officials are in the process of collecting IP addresses from where the particular profile was active communicating.

According to the police, the case was filed a week ago by Trishika's personal assistant. In the complaint, she said that requests were sent from that profile to many asking them to follow the Instagram account with photos related to Trishika, the Mysuru palace, and the royals.

"A team of police are working to identify the person who created the account and we are in the process of tracing the IP addresses," a senior police officer said.

A few days ago, Yaduveer had posted on his Instagram account about the fake account and had urged people not to follow or send requests to that account. He had also said Trishika was not on any social media platforms.
