The combing operation at Molehole and Kalkare region on the Kerala border and Bandipur National Park limits in search of Naxals, turned futile as no clues were available.

The Anti-Naxal Force along with the Forest department personnel took part in the operation on Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and Kerala borders.

The search, led by the superintendent of police  Dharmendrakumar Meena was conducted 20 km from the Mayar River, at Chigurukadu and Devara Maduvu region. The second team was led by SP Geetha Prasanna, who combed the forests near Himavad Gopalaswamy Betta and Chammanahalla.

Speaking to DH on condition of anonymity an official said that they could not find any Naxal activity during the combing operation.
