<p>In order to make footpaths more pedestrian friendly, residents of Sanjaynagar are set to launch a campaign 'Adjust Beda, Footpath Beku' on December 10.</p>.<p class="bodytext">"We want to make footpaths accessible to people belonging to all age groups, be it an eight-year-old or an 80-year-old person," said Vignan Gowda, a resident of Sanjaynagar.</p>.<p class="bodytext">Along with a carriageway, citizens are also demanding a dedicated vendor zones and parking space.</p>.<p class="bodytext">"We have all the support from the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike officials, especially from Commissioner N Manjunath Prasad along with the local MLA. We have even received Rs 7 crore from the government for the project," Gowda said.</p>.<p class="bodytext">However, there are some commercial establishments which are against the project.</p>.<p class="bodytext">"These establishments think that they will lose business if the footpaths are widened. However, this campaign is only to request them to join hands with us for a better cause," he said.</p>
