Police have  arrested the general secretary of an obscure nonprofit and two others for trafficking orphans and mentally retarded children to help  orphanages and other institutions  get government grants.

Lokesh Nayaka, general secretary, Bright Seva Foundation (BSF), was arrested along with Revana Siddeshwara, the  owner of a housekeeping services firm, LNR Enterprises, and Siddagangamma, a teacher at an NGO in  Yelahanka New Town, North Bengaluru.  The NGO runs a shelter for orphans and homeless children.

In  a sting operation, a reporter of a news channel contacted Revana Siddeshwara and asked him to supply 25 children for an orphanage in Chikkamagaluru, which is organising a function to get government grants.  Revana Siddeshwara and Nayaka agreed to supply children for Rs 1,500 each and contacted Siddagangamma to send mentally challenged kids to Chikkamagaluru.

Police arrested the three when they were reportedly making the children get on a Tempo Traveller near Seshadripuram College, Yelahanka New Town.
