The High Court of Karnataka on Tuesday issued notices to the tahsildar, Bengaluru North taluk and deputy commissioner, Bengaluru North Division in a matter related to vacating a land belonging to a school in Mahalakshmipuram.

Earlier, the tahsildar had issued a notice to the school asking to vacate the land.

Justice Aravind Kumar was hearing the petition filed by The Mother's Educational Trust, who has moved the court challenging the tahsildar's notice.

The bench stayed the operation of the notice until the next date of hearing.

According to the petitioner, the tahsildar had asked him to vacate the land before December 30.

He further submitted that the said two-acre land is fully developed and comprises 10 houses, hospital, four roads besides petitioner's school building. However, the action has been initiated only against the petitioner.

The petition also stated that the trust was paying the rent on time and the lease agreement was also regularly renewed.
