After clarification, Rahul's 'Jaitlie' jibe

New Delhi, dhns: Congress President Rahul Gandhi on Wednesday took a swipe at Finance Minister Arun Jaitley's clarification over Prime Minister Narendra Modi's comments against his predecessor Manmohan Singh during the Gujarat election campaign.

"Dear Mr Jaitlie - thank you for reminding India that our PM never means what he says or says what he means," Rahul said on Twitter hours after the Modi government sought to end the deadlock in Parliament over Modi's comments against Singh.

The misspelling of the finance minister's name also appeared to be a deliberate attempt to push the message that BJP's politics was based on a "foundation of lies", a view Rahul had articulated at the Congress Working Committee meeting last week.

Jaitley told the Rajya Sabha that the perception that the prime minister had insinuated a collusion between Singh and Pakistani officials was "erroneous".

The Congress leaders said they expect a similar statement from the government in the Lok Sabha.
