JOIN USThe city police have arrested six persons in connection with the murder of a rowdy sheeter Melrick D'Souza, at Gorigudda, on December 24.
According to City Police Commissioner T R Suresh, the arrested are Nishak Poojary alias Nishak (28) of Gorigudde, Vinesh Kumar (30) of Gorigudde, Sachin Shetty alias Sachin (22) of Mulihithlu, Ganesh Kulal alias Ganesh (34) of Jeppinamogaru, Praveen Poojary (42) of Gorigudde Nekkaremar and Sandeep Shetty (33) of Jeppu Kudpady.
The police have seized 5 lethal weapons, 2 motorcycles and mobile phones from the arrested.
The City Police Commissioner said that Melrick D'Souza and Nishak had personal enmity. Melrick D'Souza along with his associates had attempted to murder Marnamikatte Sandeep Shetty in May 2016. In retaliation and at the behest of Sandeep Shetty, Melrick D'Souza was murdered by Nishak Poojary, Vinesh Kumar Sachin, Praveen and Ganesh.
In fact, Praveen was involved in the murder of Devadas of Jeppinamogaru and attempted to murder one Raja Pumpwell. Vinesh Kumar had attempted to murder one Raja Pumpwell. There are two murder cases against Sandeep Shetty. Sachin is a hotel management course student. Nishak is a bike racer who has won several accolades in various competitions, said the police.
