Alemao, who had questioned the authority of Colaco to show cause him for his outburst on poor refereeing in the country, was let off by AIFF Disciplinary Committee with a warning after its meeting on April 20.

AIFF had served a show cause notice on Alemao for his comments against match officials a day before his side’s AFC Cup match against Al Hilal of Yemen at Margao on April 6.
The outspoken Alemao had said that some of the Indian referees were inept in their job and favoured certain teams at the cost of other sides.

The AIFF Disciplinary Committee also decided to suspend Sporting Clube de Goa vice-president Ryan Valles for 12 months besides imposing a penalty of Rs 2 lakh on him for attacking a match official in his side’s round 13 I-League match against East Bengal at Margao.

Goa Football Association was also fined Rs 50,000 for “lack of security” in the stadium which led to the attack on the referee.

The Indian Football Association, the West Bengal governing body, was also handed a fine of Rs 75,000 for the unruly behaviour of the spectators in two I-League matches at Yuva Bharati Krirangan and Howrah Stadium.

Churchill goalkeeper Arindam Bhattacharya was also fined Rs 50,000 for a fight with a spectator during his side’s I-League match against Mohun Bagan at Barasat in January while IFA was also fined.
