Last date for voters' list enrolment extended till Jan 22

Deputy Commissioner Priyanka Mary Francis said that the date for enrolling or incorporating corrections into the voters list is being extended to January 22.

Speaking to reporters on Saturday, the DC said that millennium voters would be honoured with a certificate and badge on National Voters' Day to be held on January 25.

The millennium voters should have been born on January 1, 2000.

She said the voters, whose names are not included or there are mistakes in the voters list, can approach the concerned officers for corrections.

The Deputy Commissioner said that tahsildars and assistant election officers will decide and publish the abstract containing the names of the voters. One should be tracking it, she said.

Awareness campaigns

She added that extensive awareness is being created on the voting rights of the individual. She said that a mass campaign in the form of procession was held on Saturday on the occasion of the birthday celebrations of Swami Vivekananda.

She added that overseas electorates can fill Form 6A and request for the facility of voting. Documents like passport nod visa with attestation should be produced.

She added that enrollment ratio is high in the district.

There would be hour to hour verification done by the booth-level officers.

The election commission has come out with the number 9731979899, wherein the voters can type KAEPTC (Space) voter's id card number and send the message for the information on constituency, the Deputy Commissioner added.
