A 22-year old youth, Siva native of Warangal district of Telangana was seriously injured while taking selfie  with fast approaching Falaknuma-Lingampally MMTS (Local ) train near Bharat Nagar railway station.

He suffered injuries on his head and hands and is undergoing treatment at a private hospital. The incident occurred on Sunday but it came to public attention only when video went viral on Wednesday.

According to Secunderabad railway police superintendent Ashok, Siva who was on a visit to his brother in law's house, came to Borabanda railway station and wanted to take a selfie. He did not heed to the advice of staff at the track. The staff could be heard asking him to move away from the track as he is standing close to the tracks with his hand extended on to the track.

"One minute", he replied to them, getting ready with broad smile for the selfie as the train was nearing him. Even as the driver of the locomotive was honking the horn, Siva could be seen smiling waiting for the right time to click a selfie. The train hit him at a high speed tossing him on to the gravel, while the video was still on. However railway police say that more than the touch of the train, the wind speed threw him away.

After the train moved past the spot, locals rushed him to a hospital. After treatment he was presented before the Railway Court in Secunderabad where he was fined for Rs 500 and was sent for counselling.
