Immediately after returning from the World Economic Summit at Davos, Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu had declared that Sun god will be worshipped all over the "Sunrise" state of Andhra Pradesh starting this Sunday.

Naidu, who has a penchant for programmes such as Eruvaka for worshipping nature and Jalasiriki Harathi for the rivers and water bodies, has come up with "Surya Aradhana," this time.

"Sun likes Sunday. So I will be participating in the official programme at Indira Gandhi stadium in Vijayawada by 7 am. I want everyone to take part. A specially tuned song will be played for Surya Aradhana," Naidu told a press conference in Amaravati on Saturday. Naidu said the   Sun is not the preserve of any one religion or sect and everyone should worship Sun God. He said that he named AP after Sun as sun is vital for the survival of living things.

"Sun is like a justice, he treats everyone alike. He is hard working, hence worshipping him for half an hour every day will do good," Naidu said, adding that very soon the state will introduce 'bhumi Aradhana" in an effort to raise awareness among general public about the importance of elements of nature. Naidu wanted his government to work on bringing down carbon-di-oxide levels in Amaravati by increasing greenery and introducing pollution-free electric cars and paper-free offices. The Chief Minister said that his government is coming with an Innovation valley from Srikakulam valley in north AP to Kurnool in Rayalaseema.

Jagan and BJP

Commenting on recent bonhomie between BJP and YSR Congress in state, Naidu said TDP has been silent over the overtures of BJP leaders, respecting the law of alliance. "Once BJP decides that it has nothing to do with us, we can also speak," Naidu said.
