Reliance Industries (RIL) will be setting up a 150-acre electronics park in Tirupati in Andhra Pradesh. The park will have a capacity to produce 10 lakh Jio phones and other electronic equipment.

The plan was disclosed by Reliance Industries Chairman Mukesh Ambani during a meeting with Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu in Amaravati on Tuesday.

During the meeting, Ambani assured Naidu that 80% of targeted electronics of RIL to be produced in the future, would be manufactured at Tirupati. RIL will also handhold the government by providing training to young people of the state in the manufacture of electronic goods. Ambani, who met Naidu at the Interim Government Complex in Velagapudi, discussed the proposed village-level malls in 5,000 villages in collaboration with State Civil Supplies Corporation, Digital Park in 50 acres of land in Amaravati, and feasibility of setting up a 150-watt solar power plant in Peddapuram of East Godavari district.

Later, Ambani visited the Real Time Governance Centre at the complex. "I have never come across any such centre so far in the country. The state government can patent it and earn a lot of revenue by replicating it in other states," he said.
