Social workers' conference

School of Social Work, Roshni Nilaya, Mangaluru, will organize 'Spandana-2018,' an international-level student social workers' conference on the theme 'From Diversity towards Inclusion: A Social Work Paradigm' on February 15 and 16.

'Spandana' will be a platform for the convergence of student social workers to share thoughts, ideas and knowledge and to work together for serving society in a better way.

Mangalore University registrar Prof B S Nagendra Prakash will be the chief guest for the inaugural function on February 15 at 10 am. School of Social Work, Roshni Nilaya, principal Dr Sophia N Fernandes will preside over the inaugural function.

Representative to the United Nations in Geneva for the International Association of Schools of Social Work (IASSW) and Professor of Social Work, Springfield College, USA, Dr Joseph Wronka will deliver the keynote address.

MHAT Ashoka Fellow, Kerala clinical director Dr Manoj Kumar, Engagement and CSR at Intuit India, Bengaluru Head - Diversity and Inclusion Zeeshan Ramlan, Dept of Social Work, Loyola College, Chennai, assistant professor Dr T M N Deepak and others will deliver speeches on related topics.

Scientific paper presentations will also be held. Cultural programs will be held on February 15 at 6 pm at the amphitheatre.Valedictory programme will be held on February 16, at 3.30 pm. Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) and Internationally Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (ICADC), USA Linda Benoit will be the chief guest. District child protection officer Mamtaz, School of Social Work, Roshni Nilaya, vice principal Dr Jenis Mary will preside.
