Karnataka HC takes up petitions regarding Veerashaiva-Lingayat issue

Chief Justice Dinesh Maheshwari orally observed that anxiety was good, but over anxiety was bad.

He was hearing a matter regarding granting minority status to Lingayat faith.

The court took up a batch of petitions seeking a stay on further proceedings of the seven-member expert committee constituted for the purpose.

The bench reiterated that the decision in the matter would be subject to the result of a writ petition.
