<p class="title">Newly-appointed AICC general secretary in-charge for organisation and training Ashok Gehlot said his new role at the national level notwithstanding, he would continue to play an active role in Rajasthan politics.</p>.<div dir="ltr"><div> </div><div>Speaking to the media, he thanked Congress President Rahul Gandhi, for giving him new responsibility and said that it was because of trust and his loyalty towards the party. "I would do my best to meet the party's expectations. I have always treated myself as a simple worker " Gehlot said.</div><div> </div><div>However ruling out the speculations that his responsibility in the organization, will keep him away from Rajasthan, Gehlot recalled the words of former Jodhpur Maharaja Hanuwant Singh "Mai thansu door nahin (I am not far from you)." Speaking to media here, he said that Rajasthan was and would always be close to his heart.</div><div> </div><div>The former Rajasthan CM who a day ago replaced Congress veteran Janardan Dwivedi as in-charge for organisation and training, said he would work towards strengthening the Congress before the 2019 general elections. </div><div> </div><div> </div><div>Referring to the new responsibility in the AICC, Gehlot said that he would now work to further consolidate the position of the party keeping in view the general election next year.</div><div> </div><div>"We together would work for strengthening the party, expand its base and bring it back to the power in Centre by infusing a new life in the party and its cadres across the country," he said.</div><div> </div><div>He further said that more youth would be associated with the Congress by apprising them of the party ideology and the contribution as well as sacrifices of the great leaders of yesteryears, who laid the foundation of the party.</div><div> </div></div>
