Police nab four, seize swords, pistols, ammunition

The Mangaluru North Anti Rowdy Squad along with Surathkal police arrested four people and seized three swords, two country-made pistols and 10 live rounds.

According to City Police Commissioner T R Suresh, acting on a tip-off that Sandeep, a resident of Krishnapura 4th Block in Surathkal is in possession of swords, the police arrested Sandeep and seized the three weapons.

Based on the information given by Sandeep, the police arrested Akash Haradi of Brahmavar and Charan Raj alias Channu Farangipete at Kuthethoor and Rakshith Bhandary of Dharmasthala.

Akash Haradi and Charan Raj informed the police that they had given two country-made pistols and 10 live rounds to Rakshith, based on the direction of Sathish alias Sacchu, who is serving life imprisonment at Belagavi jail and Akash and Prashanth alias Pacchu.

The Commissioner said that Sandeep was involved in an assault case registered in Mulki while there is one assault and attempt to murder case against Charan Raj and one assault case against Rakshith in Belthangady Police station.

The City Police Commissioner has lauded the operation carried out by ACP Rajendra D S, Inspectors Navin Chandra Jogi with their teams under the supervision of DCPs Hanumantharaya and Uma Prashanth.
