<p>In a shocking incident, a woman was molested and assaulted on a running local train in Mumbai on Thursday night.</p>.<p>The incident took place around 11 pm on board a local train, which was on its way from Kalyan to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus on the Central Railway network.</p>.<p>The victim and the accused, Rafique Chinkan Ali Khan (35), were travelling in the part of a coach reserved for handicapped passengers and cancer patients.</p>.<p>The accused is a taxi driver and a resident of Byculla in south Mumbai.</p>.<p>A video of the incident, apparently shot by a co-passenger (a handicapped person), on his smartphone, went viral on Friday morning.</p>.<p>The video shows the man beating the woman mercilessly and at one stage the woman is also seen going near the footboard to jump out.</p>.<p>"The accused has been arrested and an investigation is in progress," said Senior Police Inspector Nitin Bobde of Dadar railway police station.</p>.<p>The accused has been booked under 307, 354, 323 and 506 of the Indian Penal Code.</p>.<p>Initial investigation revealed that the accused had borrowed money from the victim and refused to return it.</p>.<p>They boarded the train at Dombivli station on Thursday evening. When she again asked for money, his temper flared up and he started assaulting her.</p>.<p>Since the handicap section is partitioned from the ladies coach, the women from there screamed and sought help.</p>.<p>Khan dragged the victim by her hair and attempted to strangulate her. He molested her and tore off her clothes.</p>.<p>At one stage, he even fell off, but got up again.</p>.<p>The GRP was alerted and when the train reached Dadar, police rushed in and took him into custody.</p>.<p>The accused and victim were known to each and the woman used to lend often lend money to Khan.</p>
