Congress MP forces RS adjournment

Gujarat Congress member Praveen Rashtrapal, who had given a Zero Hour notice to raise the matter of certain comments reportedly made by Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi vis-à-vis Dalits in a book, repeatedly disrupted the proceedings when the Chair did not allow the notice.

“Why is my matter not allowed? I want to know,” Rashtrapal demanded, disrupting other members from raising their matters during the Zero Hour. Even though Deputy Chairman K Rahman Khan repeatedly said it was the chair’s prerogative to decide on the Zero Hour notices, he did not relent leading to a 15-minute adjournment.
