Villagers in Sullia to boycott elections

Voters in three villages have decided to boycott the upcoming Assembly elections in Sullia taluk.

Since the village does not have a proper road, the residents of Kemmele or Hemala have decided to boycott the election. Legendary heroes Koti and Chennaya, who are dear to the hearts of the people in the district, worshipped 'Kemmele Nagabrahma' at Kemmele or Hemala. Enmoor village has one government school and 30 houses with 300 voters.

Village committee president Praveen Hemala and secretary Ashok Hemala said that there is no proper telephone connectivity to the village. The residents of Kayarthadka, in Sullia, too are facing problems. Villagers here have put up posters to create awareness on NOTA. The residents said that the road connecting Kayarthadka-Kankal, Peralakatte are in a deplorable condition. Hence, it has been decided to exercise NOTA. As the road connecting Hosagadde in Sonangeri near Jalsoor is not developed, the residents have decided to boycott the election.
