Addressing a press conference here, Gowda said while NICE was getting private land at Rs 2-5 lakh per acre and government land at Rs 10 per acre, the contractor of Yamuna Expressway was paying an average of Rs 26 lakh per acre of land acquired.

Besides, five townships along the Yamuna expressway was coming up on only 6,217 acres. However, NICE was getting 13,914 acre for the five townships.
While Yamuna expressway was building a total 165 kms of concrete road, NICE had been permitted to built 111 kms of tar road.

Global tenders
Gowda alleged that the Yeddyurappa had cancelled the global tenders floated by Kumaraswamy government for the BMIC project for the fear that world-class companies would come forward to complete the project at half the development rights.
Gowda also accused the government of colluding with NICE and allotting excess land to the project.

The government had also turned a blind eye to the notings of PWD that excess land had been provided to NICE, he charged.
