<p>Addressing a press conference here, Gowda said while NICE was getting private land at Rs 2-5 lakh per acre and government land at Rs 10 per acre, the contractor of Yamuna Expressway was paying an average of Rs 26 lakh per acre of land acquired.<br /><br />Besides, five townships along the Yamuna expressway was coming up on only 6,217 acres. However, NICE was getting 13,914 acre for the five townships.<br />While Yamuna expressway was building a total 165 kms of concrete road, NICE had been permitted to built 111 kms of tar road.<br /><br />Global tenders<br />Gowda alleged that the Yeddyurappa had cancelled the global tenders floated by Kumaraswamy government for the BMIC project for the fear that world-class companies would come forward to complete the project at half the development rights.<br />Gowda also accused the government of colluding with NICE and allotting excess land to the project. <br /><br />The government had also turned a blind eye to the notings of PWD that excess land had been provided to NICE, he charged.<br />DH News Service.</p>
