On Monday, based on a complaint from South India Cell for Human Rights Education and Monitoring (SICHREM), IGP Megarikh raided the station after learning that some youths were detained for the last two months.
The officer freed Anwar (22), Khalid Sait (28) and Akram (22) who were detained illegally for the last two months.
Apart from them, there were another six juveniles -- Anamalai (16), Zakir Hussain (17), Prashanth (14), Murali (17), Shashikiran (17) and Karthik (21) who were locked up for many days.
