The total number of positions are 825, of which 73 have been filled unopposed. Polls will be held for 752 positions. The total numbers of candidates in fray are 1,669, of which 1002 are males. About 3,338 candidates are in fray in Udupi and Karkala taluk which will go for polling on May 8.
In Udupi taluk, of 1,033 seats, 49 seats have been elected unanimously. In Karkala taluk, there are 465 seats. The candidates in fray are 1,026.
