The victim, Thimmaraju, a native of Nedaraghatta, Madagasheera in Ananthapur taluk, Andhra Pradesh, was employed with Kabbalamma Hotel on MM Road.

The police said, around 8.30 am, Thimmaraju was busy working on the wet grinder. While the machine was on, he tried to collect the grated coconut and came in contact with a live-wire. Immediately, he was shifted to a hospital where he was declared brought dead. Thimmaraju's brother Sreenivas too was working at the same place and at the time of accident, he was on the first floor.

Speeding truck kills two

Two pedestrians were killed on the spot, while another was critically injured when a truck knocked them down on Hosur Road in Madivala, on Wednesday night. Details of the deceased were not available, as bodies were crushed beyond recognition, said Madivala traffic police.

According to the police, the truck was speeding its way to Bangalore from Hosur. Even when the signal turned red at Garvebhavipalya, the driver did not stop the vehicle. As a result the truck collided with a four-wheeler and mowed down two pedestrians who were trying to cross the road. The police on night patrol rushed to the spot and arrested the driver. The driver was found to be in an inebriated state when the accident happened.
