Elephant calf rescued, let off

The elephant calf from Dubare Reserve Forest had reached Valnur when it was separated from elephant herd. The calf reportedly fell down accidentally while crossing the trench. Villagers, who saw the calf, informed Kushalnagar Zonal Forest Office immediately.

Accordingly, Forest officials led by Regional Forest Officer M S Chinnappa reached the spot and rescued the elephant calf with the help of villagers. Later, they let the calf off to the forest.
